Hydrologics Technology Could Backwash GAC Filters

April 2017 NJAW again used their Hydrologics truck unit to successfully backwash eight GAC filter vessels at another one of their treatment sites in New Jersey.

 

They had two issues to overcome:

​

1 – Disposing of the contaminated backwash water

​

2 – Achieving the high flows needed to backwash the GAC filters.

 

This GAC filter site is now plumbed to allow their Hydrologics truck unit to come in quickly and efficiently for backwashing the facility once a year.  The huge benefit comes from not having to haul off the backwash contaminated water – After back-washing with the Hydrologics truck unit, all that needs to be removed is the light-weight filter bags (no water lost)!
